Peach vanilla-buttermilk Syrup

You can serve this with Bread pudding/ Ice cream or as a sauce for anything if suddenly you are hit by the sweet tooth. Today I used this as a sauce for the traditional Creme Custard Corn Pudding.

Recipe:

  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 4 tablespoon Sugar or lesser (To your Liking) It is called "Syrup"
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1/2 tsp. Sea Salt salt
  • 5 peach halves cubed small. (halve peaches in can)
Direction:

In a medium saucepan, cook cream, buttermilk, sugar, and cornstarch over medium heat, stirring, until sugar melts. Increase heat to medium-high and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally, 2 minutes more. Remove from heat and whisk in baking soda, vanilla Essence salt and cubed peaches. mixture will foam and froth. Let sit 2 minutes before serving. You can also make this the night before.
